Out of the frying pan

[link to this post]

Recently switched to plusnet FTTC from Be due to poor iPlayer performance.

Despite an IP Profile of - 21.99 Mbps and a speed test of 14.33Mbps iPlayer is frequently unwatchable like now 9pm 07/03/12 it will not even play SD content properly.

Running the iPlayer diagnostics at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics I get the following rubbish results.

Download Speed: 6696kbps
Streaming Speed (1): 2302kbps
Streaming Speed (2): 2035kbps
Streaming Speed (3): 2611kbps

This is worse than on the old ADSL2 connection from Be. Are others having such problems with iplayer on plusnet ?

Fine here:

DS - 10750
1 - 10735
2 - 10986
3 - 10909

That's on an 11.4 Meg profile, so pretty accurate I would say. See my sig for 'Plusnet links'. The first one takes you to your Plusnet profile (login required). See if it is still as high as you believe. Then try the BT speed tester to see if BT's profile matches it.

The thread seems to suggest the pcl gateways aren't the only ones affected.
