Legacy Pro v Unlimited Pro

[link to this post]

Hello,

First post in ages!

I have been on the legacy BBYW Pro product for years, no shaping or traffic management, the only issue is the 20GB/month limit that we often exceed by up to 8GB/month.

When I have looked into changing previously there has not been an alternative offering the same features however the current Unlimited with the Pro option would save £5 a month and naturally offers unlimited usage and has no shaping or traffic management.

Are there any other considerations before I give up the legacy product?

Many thanks.

Yes, forget the Pro option on unlimited and save yourself another £5 - for 99% of users it serves no useful purpose and may actually be detrimental to performance.

The consensus of opinion appears to be that if you take the Unlimited product then there is no need for the pro add-on.

Just another thing to check, if you have not done so already, is whether your exchange is Market 2, meaning that you are now in a "low cost area" if you were not previously.

Thanks, by other considerations I meant benefits of the BBYW Pro product that I should not give up lightly?

I.e. can you have a fixed IP on unlimited?

You keep all your existing extra features, so if you are already on a fixed IP you will stay on a fixed IP for no extra charge.

One other point is that the 12 month contract is cheaper. (but not for everyone)

Edit: I mean an annual contract is not ideal for everyone. blush
