582n (FTTC version) USB port

[link to this post]

Can you connect a printer to this? It seems only to want a (suitable formatted frown) disk drive.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks, but the Plusnet link just seems to fade out? I might PM the OP there if I get nowhere, but Ian's suggestion looks as though it will be spot on.

Thanks Ian. That looks like it should do the job.

I have to go out for a while now, but I'll let you know how things go smile.

Brilliant Ian, thanks smile.

Win 8 on a new HP 1202ea.

Plugged the printer into the laptop as instructed and it installed the drivers automatically. Then connected it to the 582n and largely followed the instructions. I left the "Query" box ticked, it seemed to make no difference - got the not found page. So followed the instructions on that. Didn't click the Windows Update box bit IIRC there was a Finish or similar button.

Working fine.

Also just installed it on the very old Vista machine that used to have to connect directly and that is fine too. This time I unticked the "Query" box. Looks to be irrelevant - I ended up stopping that search.

Glad it worked!

I've got the ADSL version of the 582n router and remember coming across that page when I first received it.
