Slow email download

[link to this post]

This is not a new problem but it has now started to annoy me! Even plain emails take several minutes to download. Currently using Eudora as an email client as I first had it with dial up U-net all those years ago.

I wonder if there is a setting somewhere that I have not put in correctly? Not blaming PN just wanting to know how other email clients perform too.

We've seen a few cases where email was slowed down or even prevented from connecting by antivirus programs. Last one I remember being particularly bad was AVG though that was a while back.

Using Norton Internet security, the whole point of which is to pickup anything nasty that does get through the system.

The point is you need to test that. It's no good moaning at Plusnet if the fault is on your PC. If disabling Norton temporarily resolves the issue you need to moan at Norton.
