Please diagnose my HG612 stats (DLM is on again)

[link to this post]

These are the stats for the last 3 days. Something doesn't seem right here.

I am back on interleaved. My download speed has dropped a bit more (now below 60mbps whereas I originally got 67 then it settled around 63 for a few days) and mu upload went from an initial 18mbps to 16 then to 12-13 now it's at 7mbps.

I am not happy about this continuous fluctuation downwards.

BTW I am connected to ptn-ag01

EDIT: OK here is a speedtest from Ealing which is a lot better but it's still not as good a result as I was getting a few days ago and the stats look way dicey.

Hi oddball,
Speedtest > Ealing Server is what I always use as it also gives a good upstream result.

Anyway I am almost in exactly the same situation as you 68Mbps down to 63Mbps down to 53Mbps Down to 34Mbps down to 29Mbps now down to 16Mbps.

My upstream was 18.5Mbps now its kind of sitting around the 15Mbps mark.

I am connection to gateway: ptn-ag02
I am using my original Modem: ECI (unmodified) but may hookup my HG612 for the graphing tools.

Have you had any problems with your HTTP downloads as mentioned in your other thread In my case if I try to download a sample file any test site be it proof.OVH.net/files or from TBB sample files my download fails either after 300MB or about 30-60Secs and Firefox/Chrome just throws a "Download Error" message.?

I am in conversation with PN troubleshooter guys and will post back to you if I manage to get anywhere..

Keep you posted!

Out of interest... what do you use to generate that graphs?

Thanks!

Using a HG612 VDSL BT modem I purchased off Ebay for less than a tenner (The ECI you get now does not allow this). I hacked the firmware to allow access to the stats etc. Also using this to generate stat graphs.

Or, preferably use the newer, more configurable, more reliable, more efficient program version - freely available here:-

HG612 Modem Stats 1.0

I do log into this & the Kitz forum quite regularly so can address any queries on setting up the program(s).

FWIW, I will be releasing an even more efficient version with more graphs/information soon (but I have been saying that for a few months now).

Example - Ongoing Stats

Example - Snapshot stats changes - Animation
