Bt sport on plusnet

[link to this post]

Seeing as plusnet are owned by bt, does anyone know of any plans to provide bt sport free to plusnet customers? My contract with plus is up soon and I would stay if bt sport is included. If not I'm off to bt!

Oh, I'm on a market 1 exchange so having to use the standard adsl max reseller services in any case.

They keep saying watch this space, something is being trialled by staff and promising to announce something soon. But when it comes to PN promises take this post from 2009 for example: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,6689... still hasn't happened so I wouldn't hold your breath!

Whilst I understand your point Jelv, saying that we'll try to do something is not the same as promising it.

I don't consider unencrypted POP3/IMAP/SMTP satisfactory these days, considering all the open networks in use with questionable levels of security. In a way I'm pleased O2 are killing their email service since it didn't seem like they were interested in supporting encryption.

Isn't BT Sport Operated by BT Retail?

In which case I think its wishful thinking to expect BT Sport to be offered free to PN customers

Hi

PlusNet come under the BT Retail umbrella, see:

http://www.btplc.com/Thegroup/Ourcompany/Groupbusine...

So I believe that PN could be allowed to offer BT sport.

Virgin Media is nothing to do with BT and they offer it.

It is all about coming to an agreement to offer it to customers.

No - Plusnet come under the BT Consumer umbrella, as does BT Retail. Plusnet is run as a completely separate company.
