Can you/support adjust to 3db noise margin?

[link to this post]

I currently have my line set to 3db noise margin to get extra speed with my current provider.

Does Plusnet allow you to do this either via control panel or via support?

Thanks

In a word, yes they can do it for you if you had stable over 10 days with snr of 6. Then, u can request a snr of 3 through the plusnet forum here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/board,3.0....

Are you sure about that max? Any chance of a link to a relevant thread please, rather than just the community forums?

The BT Wholesale WBC DLM does reduce it to 3dB automatically these days, on stable lines, but I haven't heard of it being fixed at 3dB. That would defeat the whole object of the DLM.

I wouldn't like to say it was 'fixed' but I recently had my line reset to a 3db target.
It did go to 3db as soon as Chris placed the reset...no training.

That's good smile. It's held at that as well I gather.

Yep. I'm lucky enough to have a nice stable line.

My downfall is that I am a compulsive meddler which doesn't fit well with DLM blush

Line reset target snr 3 by Chris on the forum. It's took 6 months for DLM to reduced my mother's line snr to 3 from 6. Too long to wait.

It's something that we would need to do remotely, if you'd like a 3dB profile it's something I can take a look at and see if your line seems suitable for it.

PM your details over if you wish too.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not with Plusnet yet but I am now seriously considering moving.

I especially like when ISP representatives check the forums.

When you mention you need to do remotely what do you mean?

Thanks

We arrange for this to be done essentials from our seats, it's a fairly simple process smile
