Local Loop or ISP

[link to this post]

Have noticed unexpected high levels of packet loss during periods when I least expect it !, i.e late morning and early afternoon

my snr levels drop to around 2db then rise again in sync with disappearance of packet loss

have done 17070 and cannot hear anything resembling noise on my line

was wondering if it is local or isp related !

Are there anything items in your house that come on around that time?

I wouldn't imaging that to cause an issue just for a small period of time.

I've tested your line and checked for any issues at your exchange and everything is coming out ok.

How often is this happening, it may also be worth bypassing the homeplugs if possible?

Has it done it from Day 1?

Phone calls; washing machine; central heating cutting in and out; same with fridges and freezers; dishwasher; games consoles or any other family use out of sight; exercise/fitness equipment at home or next door; Sky or other "TV box" usage; local radio ham? And any more I've missed.

Do you mean you've found that's what it is, or just that I've only listed local?

If the latter, that's because those are the ones you can fairly easily check and eliminate as a first step. Looking for anything remote occurring on a intermittent basis is going to be a real pig, not to be undertaken without making sure it is a remote problem.

If lots of people on PlusNet were getting it, then it could be something faulty there, but so far as we know they aren't. It's particular to your line.
