Cheaper than BT?

[link to this post]

Hello,
after 2 years with BT Infinity on the 4th of January I am looking to save money, With Plusnet I could save approx £65 PA, however on checking my usage it seems we are using 100 gig per month (mainly due to iplayer and Netflix so far as I can see). So is Plus Net fibre really unlimited, and in your experience have you been able to take your BT number to Plus Net (if we could not take our number the misses would veto it)?

Cheers

PlusNet just a WLR phone deal so nice and simple and porting the BT number should be no issue.

On the 100GB a month, if their unlimited had any issue with this then the long time PlusNet users would soon be shouting about it.

PlusNet currently have no big deals on their fibre product, but these deals come and go

As you mentioned the future price increase for Privacy + Caller ID, be aware that this Anytime goes up to £5.48 at same time.

Hi,

You can get £38 cashback if you sign-up by following the link through QuidCo:

http://www.quidco.com/plusnet/

I've received over a grand in cashback since I joined QuidCo five years ago. They keep the first £5 each year for my premium membership, but they also offer free membership for slightly reduced cashback rates.

Not sure what the BT Broadband options are these days (years ago I remember seeing only top business accounts eligible), but if it's important to you for anything [eg home CCTV system, incoming e-mail, etc], you can get a static IP on Plus.Net for a fairly low (once-only, not some daft monthly charge) fee... 5 or 6 quid, from memory.

If you run a business, have a second ISP and backup web hosting...

Not sure why incoming e-mail would benefit from Static IP. Maybe you really mean running your own mail server or any other server for that matter,

Called BT and after 30 minutes of sales patter ('BT are more expensive as we are the best, Plusnet oww they are not as good, looking at their forums lots of congestion complaints') I finally got my MAC. Signed up via Quidco as per Doug's advice and am due for £120 cashback!
Now hoping for a smooth migration tongue
