Plusnet Rep?

[link to this post]

Can a Plusnet rep explain this?

http://www.camieabz.co.uk/tests.png

Tests 1 and 5 are standard TBB tests. Tests 2, 3 and 4 are 50MB port 80, 81 and 8080 respectively.

This isn't unusual, rather it is typical, in that downloads are far slower than the TBB standard test, which maxes at 11.8 Meg, which is fairly typical for my connection.

The thing is, I pay a fiver a month for 'Pro' and I'm not seeing that here, and I don't tend to use downloads that much. Streaming perhaps, but that's about it.

When you say standard tbb tests are you referring to the tbbx1 or httpx6 in the speed test?

The first test looks to have a variable tbbx1 followed by good httpx6 (symptom of congestion).
Then during test 5 the congestion appears to be gone.

There are debates going on about load and packet loss issues in bits of the BT Wholesale network, so the issue may not be PlusNet and their traffic management, but before the data hits their network.

No idea. 1 and 5 give 11.8 Meg speeds. The three in the middle do not, and as I said this is typical of other tests (i.e. ones I did at 4am today when there was no congestion).

Jelv: No. (and I don't want a product debate)

Is the "legacy" Unlimited now the same as the new Unlimited?

No. That was years ago anyway wasn't it?

Plusnet T & Cs for a product in general stay as they were at the date you signed up to that product, whatever product changes take place subsequently. If you examine the full price list you will see myriad references to dates.

Yes indeed, tempus fugit.

Now that PN is targeting/signing up the masses I would guess the customers on "legacy" products will prob./def. now be a very small percentage overall.

I'm not on Unlimited either (I rarely go over 30GB). I'm on 20CN where I find Max Premium is more beneficial than Pro.

A repeat test. Started at 04:45hrs, and completed a minute or so ago (04:55hrs):

http://www.camieabz.co.uk/tests2.png

Same format as last time, only I tried to get the Zen test files, but they were unavailable, so opted for another speedtest for a few seconds, but realised it was out-with the UK. Cancelling it, I then opted for the BT test.

As you can see, the TBB tests 1 & 5 and the BT test are at 11.8 Meg, while the rest are 6 Meg to 9 Meg. This wasn't always the case.
