BT

[link to this post]

Hi,

I placed an order for Infinity but I am not happy with the time it is going to take to install. If I cancel with BT how long do I have to wait until I can order with you? I know you may not be able to get it installed any quicker but at least you provide updates. BT as far as I know don't

Thanks

from my experience is no updates other than the estimated date given, and in my case that estimated date was wrong on the website, I had to ask for manual updates.

I concur. I've had to call them to ask them for an update. , assuming you refer to BT

When I ordered Infinity via BT, I was given an install date via e-mail & website.

And it was met. No problem. Are you saying you have not receievd the install date? It's usually 2 - 3 weeks from the time you placed the order.

You will find the same wait if you ordered via Plusnet since it's BT who have to set up the connection anyway.

Your email, date and website are BT Retail.

They have nothing whatsoever to do with the physical install smile.

It is Openreach and BT Wholesale that set up the connection. These three all have to practise "equivalence".

Simply saying "BT" causes endless confusion to people who don't realise that. The only question is how well BT Retail and Plusnet communicate with the customer. Who installs it is irrelevant.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks Tony.

After calling BT and asking I have now got all that. Yes it is 2 weeks away. I just didn't get it initially.

This is like yours was mate - 8 working days. ( or did I get that wrong?)

I am told now the work will be done by the 15th at the cab so it can go in 16th which is now not so bad.

Well I will see what happens when BT call me back later. I know that they are famous for not doing so but we will see.
