moving phone to Plusnet

[link to this post]

Hi All,

Has anyone transferred their landline to plusnet, and if so, any comments, good or bad?

I ask as I get Fibre broadband of them now, but am thinking of transferring the phone away from BT (yes I know, PlusNet is a BT company, but they are like chalk and cheese, BT cold, give us your money, PlusNet at least try to help).

So, any thoughts?

Thanks in advance everyone.

zrerz.

I too have my phone with BT and FTTC with Plusnet.

I sometimes consider taking it away from BT, with the main contender being the very competitive Zen offering. I don't see much point in putting it with Plusnet as I managed to lock myself into Extra Fibre 80/20 at the non-phone £19.99 stage, and I've always found BT's phone fault handling exemplary.

Equally, there would have to be radical changes at BT for me to move to Infinity. Their attitude on broadband seems to be very much as you describe.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.6/14.1Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I have had no problems so far... Customer Service is better with PlusNet, mainly because you aren't dealing with a person who's first language isn't English...

Now with plusnet

They're not reading from a script either, which is a bonus.

BT -> Zen -> F2S -> Bulldog -> Be* -> BT Infinity 2

I've had phone and BB with Plusnet for several years. The only significant problems have been ones that needed to be fixed by Openreach. OR are a law unto themsleves. I doubt that BT Retail (who sell you phone and BB) have better communications with OR than Plusnet.

I have had BB & phone from Plusnet for a while now, no problems. It's reassuring to know that if you need to contact them the support is based in the UK.

1. There is often a delay with Plusnet completing their testing and even raising a phone fault with OR (typically 48-72 hours).

2. If your phone line is down there is no free diversion of incoming calls to mobile.

My phone is still with BT.

Is CS number the same for both bb and phone?

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk
