Speed slowly slipping down

I find that my broadband wireless speed slowly falls. If I restart the router it gets back up to 55mbps. But over time it drops to around 35mbps.

I reported it to Plusnet and they found this. What does this mean?

Nothing to do with wireless speed! All to do with BB connection.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC

Apparently there was a PTTR fault on the line. What does that mean? And could that be the cause?

The Openreach engineer reset the line at the cabinet. He also found an old PSTN line in our cabinet (we used to have two lines coming into our house) that he disconnected. Could any of that be to blame?
