Sales call - "Dual Fuel" (!)

[link to this post]

Please, someone, tell your customer facing staff that "dual fuel" is ridiculous terminology for 'internet and phone'. I know some marketing plonker at Primus has renamed their service Fuel Broadband but please don't go the same route

Also, I don't feel I need 2 "account reviews" in the space of a year. I have phone line rental from Primus at 5.99/month and until Plus.Net can match it, there's little point ringing me to try to sell anything in the way of phone and broadband, fibre, or whatever ! I'll be happy to pass my number to a PN rep to put on a "do not call" list if you have such a thing for these 'sell another product' calls.

Dual fuel? That's frightening. It's not as if the fuel industry has a good rep that they would want to try and copy it.

Although there are parallels - when fuel wholesale prices come down the price to the customer still goes up. Sounds very like phone/broadband as well

Couldn't help wonder if the young lady had previously worked for an energy firm and couldn't get their terminology out of her head. I did query it, some might say ridiculed it, but she said it more than once even after I'd pointed out I thought it an odd expression given the services PN provides.

Blow me down..

In the 3 years I worked there I must have been told thousands of times that PN should do account reviews and asked " Why am i paying this when someone else is paying less" the answer of course being " you don't check the deals"

Never thought I would see the day someone objects to PN trying to save them some cash.

I got told earlier that I could connect my PC to the BTO Modem and run a PPPoE session - that failed (wonder why?)

And I was told a firewall was stopping the Auth on ym router. They come out with some corkers. There was an internal site for staff one liners, maybe there should be a public one too.
