Plusnet - blocked sites.

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Do Plusnet take part in blocking sites that the big 6 block due to the court order?

I know they block pirate bay but they blame this on BT as they go through their system.

This was the latest court order.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone use their Plusnet connection to see if access to the Pirate Bay is currently being blocked?

That's what I noticed as well yesterday, previously it has been - just wanted confirmation it wasn't an oddity of my connection(I leave Plusnet tomorrow).

What makes you leave Spud?

What ISP you going too?

Is Plusnet worth considering for FTTC 80/20?

I'm out of my Plusnet 18 month FTTC contract, and the best effective rate for 80/20 unlimited broadband and phone(after cashback/vouchers/and other discounts) was not being offered by Plusnet - I should end up effectively paying under £20 month for everything with my new ISP. When that contract ends I will look around again for the best value provider.

I'm moving to TalkTalk residential and we'll see how that goes. Basically if you wade through their bad online reviews(just like Plusnet) the conclusion you'll probably reach is that their products are OK but the overseas support is a bit weak(residential UK support from community forums as an alternative). I don't think I'd recommend them to a customer who requires hand holding or has a problematic line but in my case I hope to be able to cope with any problems they throw up.

I think Plusnet still provide one of the best value options for fibre and they should definitely be on your list.

Given the cheap price TT are good, but don't expect sync speed data rates in peak hours.

plusnet unlimited fibre - 2 Jun 14 - 470m - 80/20 - Summer/dry sync 55/9.4, Winter/wet sync 52/9.1
15 years broadband (1999 ntl:cable trial) - Asus RT-AC68U with HG612 - BQM - Summer PN speed - Winter PN speed
