Evening slowdowns on fibre?

[link to this post]

Has anyone else noticed slowdowns in the evening? I'm connected to the Brackley exchange and my evening speed test now typically looks like this:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html...

As opposed to this from a month ago:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results.html...

and this morning is good:

Note that all tests are performed using an Ethernet connection.
I'm connected via pcl-bng04.

I've added a couple of SamKnows downstream plots. I'm not seeing any severe degradation but there is a change in 2015 for sure.

Do fibre connections not suffer from congestion?

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

Certainly they can but it's generally ISP related and as Kwikbreaks has noted that wasn't the case until this year with Plusnet.

Yep - enjoying my 2nd bout of it since last April right now.

Shows far more on FTTx connections than ADSL for obvious reasons.

my throughput seems to drop to around adsl2+ levels in the evening every evening since the 5th when i got connected (and then weekend...damned weekends...)

Currently Plusnet "80/20" FTTC...Not overly impressed at the moment :|

This also completely breaks plusnet's user side traffic management system, because IP profiles are now set higher than achievable throughput.

Also my samknows was avg 64.65 in dec 2014
This month it is avg 53.28.
