If you mean on Plusnet, see Section 2.

Your current gateway.

If you mean WBC handover nodes, such as the locations shown in Section 1, there are 20 dotted around the country. WBC-using ISPs use all twenty, WBMC-using ISPs (Plusnet and nearly all the other BT Wholesale ones) use a subset of those. Small ISPs may only use 1.

There are a separate 10 nodes for IPStream Connect, though they are physically at the same place as ten of the WBC ones

The handover at these nodes is via MSILs.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync 58162/14182kbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

Are those for the total PN customer base or just FTTC?

Uh?

The gateway list or the MSIL list?

The gateway list is for all customers.

The MSIL list shows the WBC MSILs. Those cover all ADSL2+/FTTC/FTTP connections. The IPSC MSILs cover IPStream Connect, which is what the old ADSL Max now comes through. So again, all customers but presented in a different way. Think of MSILs as equivalent to the old BT Centrals.

Sorry Bob. I'm not clued up with MSILS. What I was trying to ascertain is how many possible 'ways' are there for a FTTC connection to connect with Plusnet. I read posts of 'gateway hopping' to try to reduce latency. What I was wondering was how many possibilities there are for a FTTC connection to connect to PN. No big deal.

My latency has jumped from -20 to 30+ due to a disconnection not initiated by me. I was therefore attempting to find out if 'gateway hopping' would possibly benefit my line.
