Slow/incomplete web pages - Facebook especially

[link to this post]

Seem to be having issues that I notice most with Facebook but occasionally other sites as well.

It doesn't load anything, loads pages incompletely, or doesn't do anything for an age before eventually drawing the data.

Just me or anyone else noting this? Seems to happen regardless of the time of day, can't see any packet loss and have little desire to start capturing traffic and analysing the flows unless I have to.

If it's just me that's what I'll have to do smile

Facebook loads here, but it wasn't 100% a few days ago. I hardly use it mind, so it might be that other people are used to FB foibles.

I have been having web pages sporadically hanging(partial loading) over the past week or so but wasn't able to pin down the culprit. Tried switching off anti-virus/changing browsers/etc but it made no difference. Changed gateways out of exasperation and it's currently not happening.

I had assumed it probably must be me otherwise the message boards would be flooded with complaints plus I had also been playing with router settings.

So basically it's funny you should bring this up but I can't confirm it's a Plusnet issue ... tongue

Sounds a bit like this 2 day BT issue which pretty much destroyed the ability to browse, now resolved: https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connec...

I have also being having this issue for weeks now, web pages often loading slowly... I initially thought it was because of Netflix streaming but it isn't (not that it did that before). Right now I am trying to use Google street view and it's painfully slow.

Music and video seems to be streaming fine though.

I was having problems this last week too see this thread

BT speedtests were poor too did the tap 3 test which seemed to reset my router back to factory settings.
Result everything now works fine, not yet had a chance to test at peak times but looks like the problem is solved. Will update my thread once I do a peak time test.

I have told Plusnet that their Akamai cluster or the network feeding it seem a bit suspect.

No response as yet.
