Plusnet connection issues this morning.

Didn't have any connection most of the morning with a lot of "CHAP authentication failed" in my router logs followed by a lot of "CHAP authentication succeeded" but still no IPs and a lot of retries...

So yeah finally connected and all seems OK but a strange new gateway appeared...

Which gateway

You are currently connected to gateway psb-ar01.

This is located in Southbank Point of Presence.

Any idea what this is? Never been on this gateway before or the IP range...I don't like strangeness smile

Currently Plusnet "80/20" FTTC...Not overly impressed at the moment :|

Maybe something to do with this new network or maybe not?

It is the "new" network. The mention of the "Point of Presence" is the absolute giveaway. PN have had some teething troubles when moving people on to it and obviously they haven't all been resolved, hence all those initial CHAP authentication issues.

In reply to a post by ChrisAO:
"Point of Presence"

Reading those words just took me back more than 20 years to when the first POP became available in my area and I could actually afford to spend a bit of time online smile
