Plusnet-- Unrequested Cease on Line

[link to this post]

Am now with Plusnet FTTC and have been thinking about moving.
Have looked at Idnet-Uno-Cloudscape and on each site entered phone number to see what is available.
When I tried Uno it showed " There is currently a cease order in progress on the line currently which will prevent any new orders being placed."
I had not contacted any of these Providers but had only Browsed their sites.
I realise the problems which could be caused by an unwanted cease on the line so I tried BT availability checker and it stated --"There is currently a Broadband cease pending or in progress against this line. This cease is due to complete by 26th August 2016."
Then Contacted Plusnet Chat Line and explained situation to them but they assured me there is no Cease On my line.
Is this OK or should I be worried?
Thanks for Advice

If you are still on Plusnet's 40/20 service, it is possible that the 'cease' is actually a pending change from 80/20 (capped by Plusnet to 40/20) to 55/10. I don't know whether everyone on 40/20 has been moved yet.

You would have hoped Plusnet could explain what is happening.

There's a second reason why PN might have put a cease on your line, without your account ending. That's the possibility that PN are moving your from their old BT-PN interconnect, onto their new BT-PN interconnect.

This is because PN are shifting from a "Shared WBMC" network to a "Dedicated WMBC" network, which affects the way that BT wholesale pipe the data between Plusnet and your exchange. unfortunately, that shift is best done "under the hood" with a cease-and-reprovide ... which isn't fully invisible.

If this is the case, then you might find some odd "closed tickets" on your account...

Yes I am on 40/20 service and have not been moved yet.
I did wonder if this " Cease" had any relevance to the change but on the Chat Line this was not mentioned.-hence the concern.
Thanks for your reply and hopefully you are correct.

It could also be Plusnet moving you to their new network, I've seen that mentioned a couple of times on the Plusnet forum.

Only way to find out is ask them.

Thanks WWWombat for that Link-It's News to me but another possibility.
Definite Lack of Communication from Plusnet.
So seems I have no need to be worried.

That's highly likely, exactly the same thing happened to me while researching ISPs, after speaking to Plusnet they confirmed it was related to moving to their new network.
