I went to a local provider (not that it makes any difference). Not as cheap as the offer PN put to me to stay, I wasn't willing to sign up for another 24 months.
I had an issue with the connection initially when I migrated, (my fault, I changed something on the router without realising that prevented me from connecting), I logged a support ticket, got a phone call within minutes, even before 8.30 am. Then had a lengthy conversation with them to resolve the issue. Id still be on hold with PN waiting for an answer!
Call charges are massively cheaper, no connection charges at all.
PN are not the small ISP they were when I joined for the first time over 10 years ago.
Im not convinced that the shaping being removed would make any difference, but I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned when I notified them that I was cancelling.
99.9% of users with PN wont face an issue/wouldn't notice anyway, that's their target market.
So far Im glad I moved.....
