Plusnet Users

[link to this post]

Can I please ask all plusnet users to run the stream test below and report back here so I can pass this report to plusnet because 4K is very poor on plusnet network (all other such as 720p, 1080p, 1080p60 are working fine but very poor on 4k on youtube & netflix. Plusnet has declined it was slower down on any streaming on 4k on their network.

All working fine for me, most of the time. When they occasionally don't work, 4K is no worse than the others. In real life my PC would struggle to keep up with a 4K stream in any case, nothing to do with the connection.

If the PC was up to dated with latest technology such as AMD and Intel. Should work fine with 4K UHD.

It either works fine on my 40Mb connection or fails completely so I suspect that there is a problem with the test

It's an AMD Phenom II X4 955, a bit old. Anyway, there are lots of factors, e.g. graphics card.

That's what I thought when I was doing it. They all stopped working intermittently.

Well my PC can deal comfortably with multiple 4K streams, but my broadband can't cope with even one. But then I only have ADSL Max Premium so the sync is 8128Kbps/832Kbps which isn't enough for 4K. 1080p seems stable, but not 1080p60 - again, that is the broadband rather than Plusnet's network.

I will be interested to try this test again in the evening as I can't reliably stream low res iPlayer without frequent buffering in the evenings.
