That's PN for u. They getting worse now. My mate just ordered from PN, the next available activation date is 11th October. So, he cancel it. And went to BT instead and got activation date for 13th September.

PN is useless now.

I already have them, i wanted another way to Netflix when i am off work - but I just got offered Three's new go binge on 100GB for £13 a month - so I took that instead.

No need for a second line now - problem solved. I was just shocked at the timescale

100GB for £13 a month? It's say on their site £25 a month.

If what you say is true then Openreach need reported to ofcom as all ISP's should have equal treatment/priority.

Are you sure you are providing a fair comparison? What are BT installing on 13th September?

A mere 6 working days from now...

I've been a customer since they started, I have some contracts already. Trust me they offered it to me for £13 or AYCE for £15 but ACYE is slowed down - I am told the 100GB one is not

To be fair to Max I just did another order and got 2nd October now with PN. Yet I got 14th September with BT - Here's the proof.

So yes - report them.

Edit.. Both for 80/20 service at the same address.

Somebody is playing silly [censored] and I hope people are watching.

New install of FTTC in 6 working days?

Doesn't look like a level playing field to me.

This is to install a new line. That said PN say an engineer needs to come here, and BT say they don't

And I agree, OFCOM need to be made aware so I will report it.

I've just learnt that if you fancy a headache - chat with Plusnet on Sales Chat.

"No engineer is needed to activate your line, you don't need to be at home"

Followed by...

We will need to send out an engineer to install a new line, which will cost £49,99.

[censored]... I can see in that situation the EU being stung with £65 charge for not being at home - something which used to happen a lot.

Plusnet is you read this, please PLEASE SACK Alexandra! he/she/it is useless!

They have replaced the contracts from 12 to 18 months overnight too - so that's an auto goodbye anyway

Their pricing is so messed up it's complicated. Yesterday 12 month contracts were cheaper than 18 months and today it's the other way around. Isn't that switch and bait? Isn't that illegal?

You try and find out how a low cost area is defined as well.

I have tried several times and failed. Years ago it was only Market 3. Then it became 2 and 3.

During that period some exchanges were re-graded - I don't know if they took any notice. But when the 1/2/3 grading was replaced by A and B they clearly did not take any notice of the many re-gradings that took place then.

The change was not 1 >> A and 2/3 >> B. They were properly re-classified. However I think Plusnet still use the 1/2/3 system (as does samknows!!!).

Ofcom A/B classifications July 2014.

The Market A list is (document not PDF) pages 59-65 inclusive, and Market B pages 66-70 inclusive.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 67851/12343Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

They don't appear to be describing the same job. If it is a full new install, with a new master socket, it would definitely require a site visit by an engineer. However if there is an unused master socket available then a new line could be provided by reconnecting it. No work would be needed on the premises, so no engineer visit. However while this may be a new line it isn't a new install.
