Johnlewis BB (aka Plusnet) supplied me with a Sagemcom 2704N ADSL 2/2+ router.

It seemed reasonable, but you need to go in to the hidden expert view to disable DHCP (I had two lines so already had it running). Also it doesn't work with the ThinkBroadband ping checker.

ISP's:
Zen: 6mb down - .7mb up
JohnLewis BB: Cancelled

Still that device and its just a BT Home Hub 5a that has been rebadged

Ironic that the branded/BT badged HH5A I have worked better than the one hub did.

no idea why.. firmware maybe?

Router arrived followed by an email telling me as I "hadn't ordered a router .." ??? It was a Sagemcom 2704N ADSL 2/2+

Phone line was switched today and I got home to an inactive router. Reconfiguring username and password didn't have any effect, so had to ring Plusnet. Reasonable wait time, which amazed me and helpful staff who just reset something their end and away I went. smile

So aside from the wrong phone number on the letter I was sent. Took a while for the chap to accept perhaps they should give out the right number. wink Looks like things might be improving.

They could improve immensely by activating the broadband on the account at the start of the day the service is supposed to go live.

As it is, and always has been, they only do so when they receive the sporadic reports that Openreach have completed the setup/migration. Which can take hours. There are literally hundreds of cases historically on these forums of people like yourself having to ring up to get their new broadband working.

Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 73724/12601Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

Yes, improvements could be made.

My real point is they seem to be improving over when I was with them a year ago. I don't think they will ever be as good as when I was with them three or four years back, but you have to compare with current competitors. EE for example were the worst ISP I have ever had!
