TBB BQM issues

[link to this post]

Just gone over to PN and using their supplied router at the moment. The only way to get the BQM to work is to put an item in the DMZ (in this case a webcam). The results on the graph are pretty startling and I wonder if it is a true result?

The router re- connected earlier today and the graph from yesterday was similar. Not used to seeing this sort of colour on a graph, even when tunning regular Testmynet tests.

If anyone can shed any light?

Webcams are probably not going to be the best DMZ host i.e. you have two issues

1) Routing of router to DMZ may be impacting
2) Webcam is likely to be cheap slow single core processor so might give very variable response times

Ah, I see. Is there anything better to put in? I have seen mention of Now TV boxes before.

No idea, I'd be swapping to a different router if latency monitoring was important

I probably will at a later date. Just going through the motions for the first couple of weeks. Don't fully understand the graphs, but like to see them looking better than mine smile . Just put the Sky box in the DMZ while I hunt for the Now box.

On your graph if you are an online gamer it must be horrid to play games with latency that variable

I'm not a gamer, but my son is and he isn't moaned at me yet smile Have put it on the Android TV now as it wouldn't work on the Sky box and it is looking much better.
