I don't call 8Mb slow and more than enough for home use. When with the Post Office, I had an utterly reliable totally unlimited Broadband Service despite heavy downloading. Added to this, we had line rental with free evening and weekend calls, free weekend calls to mobiles and 40 countries, no tie-in for line rental, no activation or router charge and NO penalty if you chose to have a paper bill and pay it at the Post Office Counter. All for £26.05p per month.
Foolishly, I switched to Plusnet simply to get anytime calls. Enter £35 activation fee, restricted to 60Gb usage, the most unreliable service of the many I have used with customer service every bit as bad as any other along with service outages for the first time in my in my BB life, with the advertised £3.24 broadband turning out to be £17.99 on my exchange and a bill 50% higher than the PO. I would rather have the 8Mb reliable low priced PO service than being able to boast about my speed. So much so, no prizes for guessing my destination.
