Trusteer Rapport

[link to this post]

Many banks are recommending the use of Trusteer Rapport to provide a sort of 'vault' that is unaffected by any malware, even on infected computers.

I used it for a while last year then uninstalled it. SInce then I have been unable to get new installations to work.

Does anyone have any experience with this software, and if so what is your feeling about it for internet banking.

My first suggestion would be to try installing a version then using Revo Uninstaller to remove it, then reinstall, and see how it goes from there...

Re your other question, I haven't used it, but I don't really see what valuable protection it is going to provide, all the browsers now will warn you if the site you are visiting doesn't have a valid certificate, isn't secure, or anything else underhand....

If you have AV and firewall I think the extra layer of security this is adding is quite minimal.

This one seems a bit different- it works with corresponding software on the bank's servers.

Video presentation here.

My bank doesn't offer it, or I'd think about giving it a try.

I have Trusteer rapport on my pc, have used it without any real issues, apart from when i had to restore my o/s to an earlier date, after which it would not complete its update,(downloaded the update but would not install after the requested re-boot)
and then stop running ,

i had to use this xp safe un-install before i could re-install it as it leaves some hidden traces ,as even after stopping its service, deleting its folders, and cleaning the registry and manually searching for traces of it and deleting those it still will not install again without running the tool from the link,

it is supposed to stop key logging ect whilst you are logged in to a site protection is switched on when you visit any site that it is configured to protect,
