I just mean putting a piece of software on my laptop and having done with it, with linux don't you have to put it on another computer and also have knowledge of linux, just a quick and easy piece of software is what i am really looking for, but something that works good.

I'll just install Linux to my Windows PC and know it will work. tongue

To the OP:

Check out AV Comparatives. Persoanlly if I'm prepared to fiddle, Kaspersky (although it's default setup is very easy). Norton is quite simple for the beginner.

Scottish Labour politician: “The SNP are on a very dangerous tack. What they are doing is trying to build up a situation in Scotland where the services are manifestly better than south of the border in a number of areas.”

Interviewer: ”Is that a bad thing?”

Scottish Labour politician: “No, but they are doing it deliberately.”

As a single user? Don't visit porn sites or similar.

As a family user? Either use Linux and instruct your family how to be careful or spend £100s a year and tell your family how to be careful.

Never spend money on AV. Install Microsoft Security Essentials. Run as a standard user account / turn on UAC.

Register for a Barclays Bank Account & Online Banking and you can get a 3 user license key for Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, plus 1 license key for Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.

You don't even need to use Barclays in any way other than having the account be live. Win win situation; in effect, 4 keys for a 10 minute registration process.
