Norton Internet Security

My NIS used to let me start a scan manually by clicking on the "scan now" icon & then on the "quick scan" or "full system scan". Now nothing happens when I try to do this!

Any ideas please?

edit: The scheduled scans appear to work, it's the manual ones that don't start!

Sorted via Norton Support "live chat" and remote assistance.

Evidently a known problem with Windows 8 !!
