I am looking to move from Zen to possible UKOnline LLU service, I have had enough with my exchange constantly being congested for months on end and my line keeps dropping my connection.
I know moving might not solve the disconnecting problem but im pretty sure its a BT problem.
Anyway just wanted peoples faults on UKOnline, as its a 12month contract I need to make sure its the correct move.
Here is a list of LLU providers at my exchange.

I'm not on UKOnline so cannot comment as you have no doubt read at least as much as me about them. ( Edit - read the last few posts in the Moving Home thread).
But re the line itself, if you post the results of a BT speed test and also your line stats I and others may be able to help with that.

Thanks Robert for your reply, I dont know if you can help much with my other problems as its down to my exchange always being congested.
But I have run the BT test and as predicted I am only getting 2mb.
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2438 kbps
If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.
If you are experiencing problems with specific applications, servers or websites please contact your ISP for assistance.
Your test has completed please close this window to exit the performance tester.
Here are my line stats, I have uploaded a picture as it was not formatting the table very well.

I have looked a bit further into UKOnline and think I might just take out Skys latest offer with Max LLU, but still undecided.

BT test shows no problem with the line itself, just rubbish throughput. You aren't connected wirelessly to the router are you? If you are, see what you get wired. The Netgear stats don't show error counts though . You haven't got DMT that probably works with it have you? That shows error stats.
I can't check your exchange for congestion to confirm what you say as the site I use is down at the moment, but Sky/UKOnline LLU would get rid of that.

Nop, I am connected via a network cable. I have got DMT v8 working with the Netgear, have uploaded a picture of the stats.

Probably the same one I use as I checked just before it went down and it had been red for months.

The Plusnet one? They say they have a problem with the tools server and expect to have a new one up today.
Quite a lot of ES (Error Seconds) in those stats, but you are on Fast Path so if your were on interleaved those might reduce a lot, though the CRC errors are quite bad as well. Hard to tell how long that connection has been running as DMT never updates the total time to 2 days or more, but looking at the previous day and today gives an idea.
Do you do any gaming where the ping/latency matters?

Ye the PlusNet one. Thats good news if they can get a new one back online today.
According to my router its been connected for 40h 46m this was the last time it disconnected, and the routers total uptime is 189h 13m.
I did have Interleaving turned on but was finding my ping was sitting around 70 - 100 for some reason so I asked for it to be turned off, that got my ping back down to 30 50
I cant remember but I think it was disconnecting like this before Interleaving was even switched off. I just chose to ignore it before,

Looks like you were right at the beginning - you doubted if I could really help with the line. I suppose you have done all the stuff like swapping filters and checking you haven't got a ring/bell wire connected?
Tried using the test socket inside the master socket, not the socket faceplate? Obviously the connection speed wouldn't improve but the stability might. How often are these disconnections anyway?
Nothing else in the house unfiltered either, Sky box, burglar alarm and so on?
Just to cheer yourself up put your stats into this estimator and scroll down to see the ADSL2+ speeds you should get with UKOnline.

hehe I hate problems like this so long winded and hard to find the root of the problem.
I have not tried a different filter as I have a XTE-2005 Master Faceplate, so would require me to re-wire the extension to the standard faceplate.
If we only had one phone then I would just remove the XTE-2005 and plug a filter straight into the test socket and see what happens but as it stands I am unable to leave the other phone disconnected as it is needed.
It all depends really, some times it will disconnect every day for a week usually in the evenings say from 6pm to 12am and other times it will stay connected for weeks then just drop out the blue.
The only thing thats connected is the extension and thats connected up to the XTE-2005. The ring wire is still connected as it stops my other phone from ringing when it is removed.
I have even moved the router away from any plugs and preformed a factory reset but nothing seems to work.
I did have a feeling that Zen was performing load balancing once again but they say they are not.
Who knows, hopefully when I move over to a LLU provider this problem will disappear.

Normally this shouldn't be necessary but I suggest you put a filter at the phone end of the extension and plug the phone into that. If it already has one, then double-filter it.
The XTE-2005 should be filtering that extension but things can go wrong. Also are the wires to the extension connected to T2 and T5, or TA and TB?
