Newsgroup speed on Sky BB Max

As mentioned in my post about VPN over Sky, I'm considering migrating from Plusnet to Sky. Having just looked at another forum, I have seen this link mentioning newsgroups port 119 being throttled by the dreaded ELLACOYAS by Easynet.

Can anyone comment on newsgroup performance using Sky BB Max ?
I'm trying to leave Plusnet to escape the wrath of the ellacoyas !
