Sky broadband sudden speed increase^^

So over the weekend my line stats suddenly changed by themselves (& re-sync'ed my line) which has resulted in a higher atten. SNR & higher sync speed.

Im on SKY Mid LLU was getting

speed down / up - 7616 / 384
Atten. down / up - 32 / 8
SNR down / up - 7 / 13

Max delay is 8 & ping is around 29-35ms

i checked this morning and it has now changed to:-

speed down / up - 8188 / 412
Atten. down / up - 33 / 9
SNR down / up - 13 / 14

ping now 26ms

a few notes -

1. I have the V2 netgear black router which i believe incorrectly show the UP stats, snr etc.

2. have been with SKY since november last year and has been constant 6-6.5MB since then and have re-synced my line a few times testing speeds etc, never has it done this before

3. speed tests on www.speedtest.net now shows 7.1-7.5MB

**Could this have anything to do with the line calibration that has been previously posted??**

Business ADSL: ZeN Office 8000

My upload sync has jumped up from its usual 764 to 796 kbps tonight. Thought it was an error at first but its borne out by speedtests.

And ping has impoved by 10ms!

That is definitely DLM then, the 796 kbps proves it.

you one of the lucky ones where dlm has pushed you to adsl2/+ of adsl1.

happened to me about 3 weeks ago. always used to be at 7-8 megs download speed, then all of a sudden one day i get 10.2meg download and 796kb upload. Seems it is stuck at those speeds, does'nt even change after a reboot. very strange.

whilst you enjoy an increase in speed, my speed has been cut by 2.2mb I was connected it around 3.7mb, and today I find i am only connected at 1.5mb, , oh gosh, this is going to take forever to fix with sky...about a million phone calls just to get to speak to tier3 and get this resolved, It took me over 4 weeks to speak to T3 last time, who tweaked my broadband perfectly, and put me on adsl2. oh well.....tried forcing lower SNR however does not work, target must be set at 9.5 on sky's side

Mine's gone up too from 6656/768 to 8190/796

I asked support last night to change my line to an ADSL2+ profile and now wish I hadn't. I went from 7MB sync with 7dB SNR and 41dB Attn to 5.9MB sync 7dB SNR and 46dB attn. I'll give it a day or so in case the line is being hindered by the winds around here but it looks like I might be heading back to ADSL.

BTW does anyone know a way with v1.03.87 firmware on Netgear V1 to force the line back to ADSL temporarily?
