Speedtest vs ThinkBroadband

[link to this post]

Anyone else finding large variations between Speedtest and ThinkBroadband test results sometimes? Mine:

Speedtest:

ThinkBroadband:

ThinkBroadband is only intermittently slow, sometimes it's fine. No problem with "real world" downloads.

Yep me, I always get really slow speedtest results from here, but actual downloads are about 18.5 on here lucky to get a speedtest at 5 so I've given up

I and many others, including one of the mods here have noticed the same thing and there have been lots of discussions on the subject over the last few years.

Nothing has changed so I doubt it will in the future. It seems to be just 'one of those things'.

if it matters, I always got about right from 2x20CN @ 8128 with AAISP, as in sig, but don't with Sky.
A speedtest on my Sky link gives me usually under 10Mbit but firing up even a single http thread I max out my link with ease. Though that isn't the case during peak time currently, where upstream is faster than downstream. Sky best get their act together or I'm off before my 30 days is up!

I must be one of the lucky ones as I'm not experiencing any degradation of service smile
