resent move to sky

hi im posting this for a friend he had sky broadband enabled today and the training period started him with the usual 4meg these are his router stats could anyone please tell me what possible speed he could get and is it recommended to have dlm turned off if thats possible thanks for any replys ash

I would start by making sure your friend has done all they can to ensure their own internal wiring is not causing issues.

With that attenuation the noise margin should be higher for that speed (and as DLM progresses the speed ought to increase but there isn't the spare margin at the moment to do that).

So, on current noise margin probably won't see anything much more than currently has. If the wiring is improved then could possibly get much more.

Thanks for the reply the max he got on o2 was around 6 i personally thought it might of been his wiring that was the problem as a few of his neighbours get around 11 i will tell him to defo check all is wiring and things thanks fot the reply.

just a quick update after countless emails to sky weve finally got some were and hes back onto 6meg at least so hes happy saving a few quid a month and back to speed hes used to at least lol.

another update lol they've managed to get him onto 9 meg he nearly passed out when he saw that he was that happy.
