engineer visits (openreach)

[link to this post]

Hi basically there's been some small gas works going on across the road for me and it looks like they've drilled threw one of the cables connecting to the BT pole. Both my phone and broadband died yesterday i rung sky off my mobile to tell them about it and they confirmed that it was most likaly the case. Because the error is some were between me and the bottom of the street and that they were getting a BT engineer out to sort it. Dose anyone know the general amount of time it actually takes them to fix these sort of things they said anything upto 3 days but with it been a weekend i dont have much faith on the 3 day mark. Im using a mobile broadband connection at the mo but already used half my usage and if i go over will be charged another £15 so realy dont want to keep using it lol.

Thanks for any info.

Ash

I think its a case of how long is a piece of string, depends on what the damage is and how long it will take for them to resolve it. Could be easy could get complicated.

EDIT:
Just had a word with the BT fella he confirms the gas company have nicked the wire and was shocked when i told him the phone n BB came back on he says must be because he moved the cable and it reconnected but ovs could go back off any time.
Some one is coming out Monday to do a propa fix on the line under the floor so glad we've got some info and that i wont be charged the call out charge lol
