attenuation changes with routers?

[link to this post]

My attenuation with my sky router is 58.5 but I just tried my old router and it was syncing at 51.5. Does anyone know why that is?

First of all you need to check what ADSL Modes (G.DMT v ADSL2 v ADSL2+) you are connecting at. Generally you can lose 3 dB of attn. going from ADSL2+ to ADSL1/2.
