My 10 days training (which lasted 6 days by the looks of it, connection day 24/01/12) period finally finished yesterday and it looks like i am on a set profile.
No matter what SNR tweaks i do with my own router it connects with figures similar to the ones on the bottom of this post.
Also on the mysky.com website under my account it says:
"Line connection testing completed on 30/01/2012, resulting in the following settings:
Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 3.1Mbps .
Upload speed setting
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 0.8Mbps .
These line settings make sure that your line maintains a stable connection."
Am i right to believe that i have been put on a stuck/set profile?
The connection is very stable and the speed that i am getting is very acceptable for my long line and similar to my previous ISP, however, i am the fiddling type and i would like to play and experiment in an effort to squeeze anything more i can out of my connection, especially the upstream which is set to 9db and not 7.
What is the best way to go about it to make sky put me on a profile that is not set or stuck?
Iv been on the phone once with Sky's technical support (for a different issue) and my impression was without wanting to sound arrogant that i was ten times more knowledgeable than they were (at least the 1st line of support)
Thank you in advance for your advice and guidance.
Operational Mode G.DMT
