Connection problems however downloads are ok

[link to this post]

Only been happening in the last month, many websites are lagging when loading however if I do speedtests on speedtest.net they come through around 17 meg(I used wireless and wired)

I reinstalled Windows a few days ago which didnt change the problem so not sure.

Its a Sky Sagem router which I have owned since July 2010

If I download from a website it downloads 1.9 megabytes(not bits obv) so the max the line can handle and p2p is fine unless its a Warcraft update which no matter if its 50 meg or 2 gig it starts out maxed then slows down to dial up but I assume thats just the server as its p2p I think.

Ping seems fine as can play games with no issues.

Could this be a DNS issue?

DNS seems the most likely thing, have you tried specifying different DNS servers on the PC?

My warcraft updates tend to run at line speed so not sure it is a problem their end causing that slow down for you.
