SKY Talk 1Year Line Rental Pay in Advance

[link to this post]

For those of you paying more than the £9.xx a month in SKY line rental, you can still pay in advance for 1 year and get a discount.

See http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/talk-weekends/

Look at the terms and conditions at the bottom, which includes the phone number to call (option 2).

The T&C aren't clear on whether you can leave part way through the 12 months and get a refund on the unused line rental?

I wouldnt normally to get a refund - that is why they give the discount in the first place to tie people in.

BT dont give refunds on their line rental saver do they?

BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download

I have no idea, I've never gone for a deal like this. I would expect this detail to be in the T&C, but the T&C on that page don't really specify.

No!
If you cancel Line Rental Saver within seven working days of your order you will get a full refund of your advance payment to the debit or credit card you paid with. Otherwise the Line Rental Saver charge is non-refundable.

You are correct, there is no mention of that, but I had thought about the service and decided another 12mths was not a problem to me, and I could save £50 ish. The person on the phone said I would pay up front, I would still be charged the line rental of 14.xx but would see a discount of £14.xx each month on the bill. So assume if I left in 3 mths then I would not get any refunds.

Do check your Sky account. I rang to do a second year and the monies was allocated as credit to my account but the line rental was still being taken, the advance payment was just sitting there. I had to ring to sort it out.

It may be a specialised team there that know what they are doing as I rang the normal Sky number to make the advance payment.. The first year worked fine.
