Sky IP V6

[link to this post]

Was looking around the different boards and SKY look to have come people running IPV6 as a trial.

Attempted to call the main support numbers to ask, but got nowhere.

Anyone have a number that "works" to get onto the trial?

as I understand it the trial is soon to end and it will be live sometime this year, the trial is also NDA.

The trials are usually by invitation only from customers that have taken part in prior public beta tests.

The trial was advertised on Sky's forum. It was only open to Sagem router users. I'd keep an eye on their forum - they may well announce another trial soon.

I guess it's because the Sagem routers never really had firmware that supported IPv6 whereas the SR's always did.

The company I work for has just added IPv6 to the VPN service. Shame I am not on a ISP supplier that has IPV6. Even more of a shame is that the time to connect has gone up from 20seconds to around 90 seconds (all those IPV6 timeouts before deciding to revert to IPV4). Even better was the company IT support team saying I must have a slow ISP when I asked why the difference in VPN connection time when the VPN software was updated 3-4 weeks ago. Still a lot to learn around IPv6 use, deployment & support.

They where not part of the trial wither... or not voluntarily anyway!
