How does this still help some Sky Q users, its the new Sky Hub,i have it here and its junk in my opinion.

Its a review from a site[probably paid one at that ] that says its decent and i totally disagree with all of what they say as i have it and the wireless performance is shocking.

The skyQ hub looks good, but it has a flaw. It renews the IP address & when it does the Internet connection fails and resets. Pervious hubs were ok and did not do that.

Everyone will get different mileage from the hub. In my house the Q hub has a comparable range to the D-Link access point I use, apart from one room which has foil backed plasterboard lining the walls.

It helps because any information is useful as readers can then make their own mind up.

Just because you've had a bad experience doesn't mean it'll be bad for everyone. As per other thread others are quite happy with the new Hub.

Normal DHCP which has been around for decades, renews the IP, about halfway through the lease time. What it sounds like you're experiencing is when the renewal fails and the router is allocated a different IP address, which breaks connectivity. That's can't be a problem in the Q hub but may be a problem with the DHCP server.

yes they do, but the SkyQ router kills the link during some of their DHCP renewals. It is far more noticeable on the SkyQ router

If connectivity fails during DHCP renew then its a bug, whomever makes the router for Sky have an issue. Netgear seem to do a lot of OEM including Virgin Media and I've read of similar issues on VM hubs.

Do you mean the WAN ip address renewal or a LAN ip address renewal?
