Sky Uptime Survey

[link to this post]

Hi

After BT came out to fault find the noise on the line I was wondering what people's average up time is?

At present the longest I have been connected without a drop is 21 days.

The shortest I have been connected is 9 hours.

I was wondering what was other people's experience is with regards to the longest you have been connected

Regards

Until my Q hub died after a power cut it had been up for 122 days without a resync.

Weeks of uptime on ADSL, it only resets if I'm messing around with hardware (which is a pretty frequent occurrence).

On TalkTalk my connection dropped at least once every 3 days. Even a lift and shift didn't fix it, but switching to Sky did.

Oliver.

On BT 14 days then the home hub reboots itself.

On Sky I could go a couple of months (using own router), but not with the Sky Hub which always rebooted itself.

I seem to be stuck, since I turned off the dreaded FON on my HH5B I haven't had that

I am under the impression that a fibre broadband is more stable and more likely to connect for days without re-syncing?

Mine were both as equally stable, but I guess there is less copper in the mix which can only be a good thing.

If you are having issues now, and the issue is between your house and the cabinet, going to fibre will make no difference as that part of wiring remains unaffected.

I would certainly opt for the sky Q hub if you can & intend on using isp supplied kit.

The Sky Fibre Pro here remains connected literally for months at a time. Get the odd disconnection now and again from their end (presumably when some maintenance is going on), otherwise it's only ever disconnected when we get a power cut at this end.
