SECURITY ON TALKTALK.NET

[link to this post]

User of talktalk should be aware of a security issue, this has been found by Mcafee.
Go to http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/talktalk.net
or download the Site Advisor programme from Mcafees main site. It is free and works in Explorer and Firefox as an add on.
Mcafee have shown that the site talktalk.net is unsafe with links to porn sites and browser hi-jacking!!!!!

Users may also like to go to http:www.gfi.com/emailsecuriytest/

Read carefully then run the email tests. These are perfectly safe but will show up the lack of security on talktalks email servers!!!!!
REMEMBER TO RUN AN ANTIVIRUS SCAN AFTERWARDS AND REMOVE ALL THESE HARMLESS EICAR TEST VIRUSES.

These problems were reported to broadband customers services on numerous occasions in the same sort of plain simple English used above. Not difficult to understand or comprehend.
Responses were, install an antivirus programme, install an antispyware programme, adjust your pop up blocker, telephone broadband technical support at the cost of ten pence per minute and they wil solve YOUR PROBLEM, your problem your will note. AD NAUSEUM
So we send the same sort of message for Charles Dunstone at the head office via the CEOs office and state that this is a security issue and should be brought to his attention.
Result, some cretin writes back and says I understand that you are trying to install Mcafee security. we do not support Mcafee security.....you should talk to them!!!!!

Finally we find an email address that goes straight to Charles Dunstones own computer and send of this information at 16.30 on a Sunday. By 08.30 on the next Monday morning we get a reply from another director, treating it as urgent, personally overseeing this issue, wiz kids scouring system to find problem, liasing with Mcafee etc etc etc.
Will get back to you as soon as we have answers. PANIC STATIONS IN EFFECT.

Over a week ago and still not resolved!!!

It took no less than fourteen days to get this message through, understood and acted upon
and had I not persisted in my efforts the situation would never have come to the attention of someone who would act.

Funny it's only talktalk.net that's compromised. Talktalk.co.uk and mytalktalk.net are fine apart from the links to talktalk.net.

BTW my experience with CPW executives resulted in a conversation promising to let me know when the problem was resolved. It was resolved but they never told me.
