Free connection ended, serves me right for stalling I guess!

I see the free connection offer has finished now (no sign of it on the website). Do you think there's any chance of talktalk waiving the £29.99 fee to get a new customer onboard? Anyone else successfully managed that?
Also I see quidco cashback has gone down from £55 to £24. Although it now looks like you can order the pro package online so getting the £24 quidco cashback would pretty much cover the connection fee.
If I'd gone for essentials last week though I'd have saved £29.99 connection fee and got £55 cashback compared to just the £24 cashback now, sometimes I hate my indecisive side....

Cheers

I ordered Pro when it was free connection fee. I noticed a charge on the documention for £29.99 connection. So phoned the Pro helpline to complaine and was told I would not be charged and ignore the letter as the computor always adds the charge. I await with interest to see if I actually get charged. Apart from that the router has arrived on time so things look good. I will post my actual speeds when I'm up and running.

Thanks, do you have to pay the connection charge upfront or does it get put on your first bill?

Cheers

My understanding from the TalkTalk forum is that its on my first direct debit then gets refunded the next month.

I spoke to customer services and they confirmed said that the credit should be on the first or second bill.
