TalkTalk blocking downloads from filesonic & fileserve?

[link to this post]

It seems i cannot download any file from filesonic.com or fileserve.com as a free user yet rapidshare or hotfile sites seem to work. Perhaps TalkTalk are signed up with IWF? Any way around this?

I've tried using proxies but that also doesn't work as others have used the same proxies to download so you have to wait hours to download from the same proxy.

It seems TalkTalk (along with BE/2-0, BT, Sky, VM, plusnet) have indeed blocked access to some/all filesharing sites as a free user, meaning everyone is now treated as a potential pervert...uuurggggghhh! I'm raising this with the OCEs on the Talktalk forum, let's see what they have to say.

Thanks for the suggestions, but if i wanted to pay i would just take out paid membership of fileserve/filesonic in which case this problem doesn't exist anymore. Anyway most of my downloads are from Rapidshare (no such problem), its only on occasions when i have to download as a free user from fileserve or filesonic that i get this problem.

Some ISPs don't seem capable of implementing the IWF scheme properly. I think the IWF provides urls to block, some ISPs seem to block whole domains.

Yeah, It silly that TT have not fix a problem with one of the worlds top100 sites fileserve rated 244 for the UK and I cant help but get the feeling that if this was a service like steam (ranked 510 in uk) it would have been fixed within days
