TalkTalk launch HomeSafe Internet security system

For those who missed the news article on the main ThinkBroadband site ... http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/4658-talktalk-lau...

I opted IN a couple of minutes ago. It will be interesting to see how many web sites I visit are reported as dodgy.

Do be aware that from research the Homesafe sytem of malware checking has a lot of holes and there are better Free Parental control systems out there. Article on TT Homesafe system

Well looks like it's being abused/used to stop users downloading torrents Talk talk Home Safe blocks bit torrent sites
Not so pro file sharing then ?

Not at all. Each part of the service is opt-in (Kidsafe, Homework, Virus alerts), sites deemed to be "filesharing" are only blocked if you switch on the p2p blocking in the Kidsafe element. If you don't want to block these sites, don't switch it on.wink
