can some one with talk talk help me

[link to this post]

Hi can someone with talktalk help me by looking on the talktalk forum for the exchange availability for the Darton (Darton Barnsley ) exchange.
I know talktalk is available but would like to know if there's any LLU left im wanting to join them now go on there ADSL2+ then when FTTC comes available December 31st (was September then got moved to December) upgrade to that.
I rung them up to ask if that was possible and told yes but forgot to ask if there any LLU left at the exchange dont want to be put on the BT equivalent.

thanks Ash

We are not currently able to check exchanges as the page was out of date and it has been temporarily removed , I have posted your question in the forum so hopefully one of the OCEs can help. wink

Just cuz your exchange may be FTTC'ed doesn't necessarily mean your cabinet will be. And the dates are elastic anyway.

For Telephone Number XXXXXXXXX23 on Exchange DARTON

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 5Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 3.5Mbps and 7.5Mbps.

Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st December 2011 (Used to be september). Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 30Mbps and upstream line speed of 12.1Mbps.

Post Code checker says

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial check on your postcode indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 2Mbps.

Our check also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 5Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 3.5Mbps and 7.5Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed between 30 to 32.5 Mbps and upstream line speed between 12.1 to 12.9 Mbps.

i think the current will be digital region network.

talktalk will be a second phone line but im presuming its likaly that it will goto the same cab worst comes to the worst ill make my current line the FTTC line and have the talktalk for back up. i prefere the talktalk as FTTC though because my current lines sky and i don't want to leave them (wish they did FTTC TBH)

Hi Acpsd,

If you use the availability checker on the TalkTalk Website this will give you an instant response as to whether LLU is available for you and an anticipated speed.

just put my neighbours number in and get

Your estimated speed
6.7Meg
Your estimated speed range is between 3.6 and 9meg
How do we estimate your speed?
You can open web pages in less than a second. Download songs in 6 seconds. Great for stuff like iPlayer.

the irony is she already gets 15meg with o2 and i get 10meg with sky and ive got a [censored] line that causes a higher aten than it used to lol

so the estimates a bit out but it don't mention anywhere if its LLU i can just hope for the best that it is i suppose only got till next thursday to find out

HI Asp,

As the range extend to higher than 8mb LLU must be available.

The BT Wholesale services supplied via TT are ADSL MAx which si limited to 8mb max speed. As such getting a result which exceeds this denotes upto 24mb LLU must be present.
