ANNEX M

[link to this post]

Hey guys,

So finally TT have enabled my exchange for LLU !

I have tried searching, and perhaps I'm being dumb but I cannot find an answer to the question...
Does TT provide annex M on there adsl2 LLU consumer packages ?
If not what is the maximum (in theory) upload i could expect to see with the LLU product.

I dont mind losing some download to maximize my upload speed.

My line is very short and I Currently sync at 8mb with BT on regular old ADSL

thanks smile

Annexe M is normally a chargeable extra - the only ISP I have seen supporting it is BE. O2 use the same network and do not!

On ADSL2+ without annexe M you should still get well over 1Mb/s upload, unless TT cap it in the same way the SKY do!

Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download
BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload,
Moved house, now BE Unlimited 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
FTTC Cab installation commenced 12th April - expect full 80 / 20 - bye bye BE, hello BT Infinity soon!

I think you will find they use Annex A only.

I am on a very short line and they told me I would get an estimated 18mbps but I only get 11 - 12 mbps no matter what I do. On my old BT Line I always got 6.7 - 7.2 mbps on an std ADSL line.

Thanks guys, I know they do offer it to business customers but can find no mention of it anywhere, ill call the sales people and see if they know once i get home from work

1mb up would be a large step up from my current dsl, but id love to have 2mb plus.

any TT customers care to comment ?

The most TalkTalk will give you is a flat 1Mb/s upload, which is capped.
I read somewhere (Talktalk members forum iirc) that they actually use Annex M, but cap the upload at 1Mb/s.
The only way to get more out of them is to go FTTC (2Mb/s).

Ithink it's also available via other wholesalers & resellers, (Talktalk wholesale llu ) for a cheaper price, than goscomb, I find it a bit strange that talktalk buisness presumably don't also offer the Annex M upto 2.5mbps upload product

If they did this then customers would get a lower downstream sync speed than they would normally ,without any gain in upload, ADSL2+ can have a max of 1.4mbps sync without Annex M
So it will be a case of them capping the upstream sync to 1mbps for some strange reason sky seem to do the same,
