Lottery thinks I'm NOT in the UK

[link to this post]

I upgraded to TV Essentials on Thursday, Youview box came Next day! I set it up Saturday then tried the Lottery and they think I'm "not in the UK!". strange it worked on Wednesday. I checked my IP and it starts 88.104 only the last 2 numbers have changed. TTALk blame the Lottery, Lottery say I'm "anonamysing" - not to my knowledge - they blame TTalk.
Anyone know what's going on?

There was a post on this in the Talktalk community. The talktalk reps were saying RIPE the people responsible for giving out IP addresses had given them some new ones. They were possibly used before outside of the UK.
The suggestion was to contact Camelot.

Not much help but if its true I dont think its Talktalks fault... and yes they have many!

I doubt that's the issue. Sounds like a (very) out of date GeoIP database at the Lottery or a glitch with the Geo IP data provider or Lottery systems.

88.104.0.0/13 was assigned back in 2005, to Tiscali. It has been a GB-registered range ever since (and still on the Tiscali LIR account at RIPE)

Miraculously I CAN access the lottery today.
My IP address has changed - it is now 88.104.xxx.xxx
But the last two octets are different.
WhatsmyIP still thinks this is a Tiscali IP in Lincolshire - close enough.
Problem solved but I really would like to know what is going on between TTalk changing it and Lottery blocking it.
I can't see how under 88.104, subnet it causes so much difference.
