New phone number not showing on DSL checkers

[link to this post]

I had an extra phone line installed at my home about 5 weeks ago. This was ordered through TalkTalk on a new SimplyBroadband contract, but of course the new phone line was installed by a contractor hired by BT Openreach. All has been working fine, however I am unable to use my new phone number in any online DSL checkers.
https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ shows the following:
There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line.

It is my understanding that TalkTalk should have contacted BT and let them know that the new line/number was installed. Is this correct?

Thanks!

Altho' it is BT OP who do the actual installation, for all landlines, a TalkTalk LLU line is not a BT line and therefore does not show up on any availabilty checkers, except TalkTalk's of course.

Ah that makes sense.
When BT infinity becomes available in my area would I still be able to use this line if I swapped to BT?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can use it but it could be lengthy & complex to transfer the line to BT and costly, up to £125. You may lose the phone #.

But when Fibre becomes available you do not have to take BT Infinity; any ISP can supply it or you can even stay with TT. It is a common misconception the the only FTTC is BT Infinity!

you could take fibre from talk talk -- deplending A) if they want to sell it to you (B) the price they want to sell to you at

Yes, that's what I meant - it's a TalkTalk number not a BT number.
